Yosemite Stories

Yosemite Stories, Theater and Attractions

Teddy Roosevelt and John Muir in Yosemite

Any place with as grand a tradition as Yosemite National Park is filled with stories about how it came to be, who lived here, and what they did.  Although we could never capture all of the Yosemite stories, we’ve begun a modest collection of stories to share with you here.

To hear these stories in full, as the magic of Yosemite surrounds you, attend one of our Interpretive Programs.  Some of our programs are created with younger children in mind, while others will appeal to both the young and the young at heart.  For example, after a day spent exploring Yosemite attractions, you could attend our live Yosemite theater performances in the evening, and relax and be entertained by the Spirit of John Muir, or hear the stories of a Pioneer Woman, played by Connie Stetson.

Testimonials

“The Ahwahnee surpassed all our expectations on the occasion of our 30th anniversary. Every detail was splendid and memorable - right down to the rose petals on the bed in the shape of a heart, and the cheery rubber duckies! The dinner in the dining room was regal, and the champagne flowed with splendor, as did the Yosemite Falls just outside our balcony. Altogether, a perfect place for a seasoned romance, or the start of a new one... ”
