The trail head begins across the Wawona Road near the back of the Wawona Hotel and ends at the Wawona golf course.

Swinging Bridge
A moderately easy hike to one of Yosemite's best swimming holes, the trail to Swinging Bridge is 5 miles round-trip and begins on Forest Road (next to the store) in Wawona.

Mariposa Grove Outer Loop
Though the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is closed for restoration until 2017, visitors can catch a glimpse of the big trees on the Outer Loop trail. No entry to the grove is permitted from this trail. This is a strenuous 12-mile round-trip hike from Wawona Hotel to Mariposa Grove.

Golf Course

Wawona features a nine-hole, 3,035-yard, par-35 golf course that is seamlessly integrated into the surrounding landscape. It has been in operation since 1918 and is the oldest in the Sierra. The course is open daily from spring to fall (weather permitting) and offers electric and caddie carts. Golf club rentals, plus snack and beverage service daily are available in our Pro Shop when the course is open.

Wawona Stable

Our wranglers guide your trip with stories and information about Yosemite's history, folklore, flora and fauna. No previous riding experience necessary for the 2- and 4-hour guided trips. Full-day and multi-day trips are also available. Late Spring thorough early Fall, conditions permitting.

Pioneer Yosemite History Center

Travel back in Yosemite's history in the blacksmith shop, bakery, Wells Fargo bank, jail and covered bridge. The center comes alive during the summer with programs presented by rangers/naturalists. And select Summer Saturday nights come alive with barn dances and stagecoach rides.

Badger Pass Ski Area

California's original ski area, Badger Pass, is located on the road to Glacier Point – just a short drive from Wawona Hotel. Gentle slopes, friendly staff and the beauty of Yosemite in winter have made this a traditional vacation spot for generations of Californians.

Pioneer Gift & Grocery

Sundries, newspapers, gift items, magazines, books, posters, snacks, seasonal clothing, jewelry and apparel items are all available.

Post Office

A full-service post office, including parcel post, is located down the hill from the hotel.

Gas Station

This is one of the few places in Yosemite National Park where visitors may purchase gasoline as the only other gas in the Park is at Crane Flat (year-round) and Tuolumne Meadows (Summer only).
