Starry Skies Over Yosemite

Take a cosmic voyage as you lay beneath the summer stars in Yosemite Valley or Wawona. On this stargazing experience, you’ll learn about the heavens, the moon, the Milky Way galaxy, meteors, constellations, comets, and all the folklore that follows. This unique program allows you to see Yosemite at night and as never before. This program is offered as a walking tour of the night sky in Yosemite Valley in fall, winter and spring. Great for all ages.

The Details

When and where
Program occurs in Yosemite Valley and at Wawona. Exact location will be provided upon ticket purchase. Please check the Yosemite Guide or Yosemite's Weekly Program Listing for up-to-date information and offerings.

1.5 hours during the summer.
1 hour when offered as a walking tour.

Advanced registration is required. You can purchase your tickets at any Tour & Activity Desk or call 209-372-4FUN (4386). Tickets cannot be purchased at time of program.

$7.50 per participant.
$30.00 per family (up to 6 participants)

Space is strictly limited to 70 participants during the summer.
When offered as a walking tour, space is strictly limited to 25 participants.

What to bring
Please dress for the weather including comfortable, close-toed footwear. As evening temperatures are much cooler than daytime temperatures, we suggest you bring warmer layers. In the winter, we advise you to wear appropriate clothing including multiple layers, waterproof outer layer, hat, gloves, and snow or hiking boots. In addition, please bring water, snacks, and a flashlight.

We can accommodate various special needs with advance notice. We have assistive listening devices for those who are hard of hearing or, potentially, an interpreter for participants who are Deaf. The program is wheelchair accessible. If possible, please inform us of any needs before the program.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations may occur due to safety concerns or adverse weather conditions. Cancellations will not occur until program start time and only onsite. Rain or snow is not a guarantee of cancellation. In the case of cancellation, you are encouraged to book another day or receive a refund at any Tour & Activity Desk.
