Join a DNC interpretive naturalist for an exciting Glacier Point Stargazing Tour. The tours begin with a guided bus tour to Glacier Point, on which you will learn about Yosemite's diverse natural and cultural history. At Glacier Point, you will have time to enjoy the breathtaking panoramas of Yosemite Falls, Nevada and Vernal Falls, and Half Dome, before the climax of the evening - an exciting 1-hour astronomy program under the stars.
Times vary throughout the summer. Please check the Yosemite Guide or Yosemite's Weekly Program Listing for up-to-date information and offerings.
Pre-registration is required. You can purchase your tickets at any tour & activity desk or call 209-372-4FUN (4386). Tickets cannot be purchased at the program.
Free for children under 5.
Space is strictly limited to 46 participants.
Glacier Point Stargazing Tours meet in front of the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls Registration Area (Shuttle Stop #8).
What to bring
Dress for the weather. Wear comfortable, close-toed footwear. Since evening temperatures are much cooler than daytime temperatures, we advise you to bring warmer layers. In addition, please also bring a flashlight.
We can accommodate various special needs with advance notice. We have assistive listening devices for those who are hard of hearing or, potentially, an interpreter for guests who are Deaf. The tour is wheelchair accessible. If possible, please inform us of any needs before the program.
Please call 209-372-8242 on the day of the tour to ensure there will not be a cancellation due to severe weather. If it is over 50% cloud cover in Yosemite Valley or at Glacier Point when the tour meets at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, the interpretive naturalist reserves the right to cancel the astronomy portion of the tour, but the bus will still go to Glacier Point. You have the right to not attend and get a full refund or continue to experience the tour to Glacier Point with an alternative interpretive program. Once the bus leaves Yosemite Lodge, no full refunds will be given. Full refunds are available from any tour desk. We invite you to reschedule for another night if space is available.
After the tour, the bus will stop at various Yosemite Valley destinations, including The Ahwahnee, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, and Curry Village, to make it more convenient for those who took advantage of the free shuttle bus earlier.
