Yosemite National Park is a wonderful family-friendly destination, offering educational and enriching experiences for guests of all ages. Many of our programs are designed to bring your family closer to nature and closer together. Just a few of the park's most popular options for those traveling with kids include:

Children's Storybook Hour – Bring your children to hear stories about animals, plants, and people of Yosemite. Geared toward children 7 and under, children's storybook hour offers your youngsters an enjoyable glimpse at Yosemite’s wonders. 1hr

Fireside Storytelling – A blazing fire, good stories and a gorgeous setting lend themselves to this evening program at The Ahwahnee hotel. Available intermittently in the cooler months, and some winter holidays. 1 hr

Great Yosemite Family Adventure – Explore Yosemite Valley with the family on a guided treasure hunt with GPS units. Available June through September, conditions permitting. 2.5 hrs $

Junior Rangers Programs – One of Yosemite's top kids' attractions - the Little Cubs (ages 3-6) and Junior Ranger (ages 7-13) programs allow kids to explore the park and become an honorary park ranger. 

Lower Yosemite Fall Family Activities – Discover the story of North America’s tallest waterfall on the Lower Yosemite Fall trail with informal learning activities in English and Spanish. Available June through August. 1 hr

Night Prowl – Explore Yosemite under the night sky on this guided nocturnal adventure. Available year-round, conditions permitting. 1-1.5 hrs $

Ranger Ned's Big Adventure – Experience a fun, interactive and educational children’s play by The Traveling Lantern Theatre Company at the Curry Village Amphitheater. Offered twice daily five times per week. Available May through September. 1 hr

Starry Skies over Yosemite / Wawona – Take a cosmic journey as you relax beneath the stars in Yosemite Valley or the Wawona Hotel. Available year-round, conditions permitting. 1-1.5 hrs $

Wee Wild Ones – Youngsters six and under will delight in fun stories, songs, games, crafts and activities. Topics and locations vary by season. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Available year-round. 45 mins

Cost – Interpretive programs with the $ symbol require a minimal fee and advanced registration for participation. Tickets cannot be purchased at time of program. All other programs are free.

Accessibility – We can accommodate various special needs with advance notice. We have assistive listening devices for those who are hard of hearing or, potentially, an interpreter for guests who are Deaf. Most programs are wheelchair accessible.
