Artisans at The Ahwahnee

The Ahwahnee hosts a unique series entitled “Artisans at the Ahwahnee”, to provide visitors with the opportunity to sample the wealth of artistic talent in our region.  Each month throughout the year we proudly feature a different artisan in The Ahwahnee Gift Shop, with artwork ranging from wood sculpture to photography to pottery.  During a special weekend each month, the artists will also be present to sign their work and talk about their creative process.

November – Alison Grove, a Yosemite Valley resident since 1985, returns to The Ahwahnee as this month's featured artisan.  Alison last presented her beautiful and distinctive watercolors as our April 2008 artisan. Alison loves to spend as much of her time as possible backpacking, drawing and painting the mountains, meadows and waterfalls along the way.  Her work focuses mostly on color and form that she does not consider "traditional" watercolors.
