Our Glacier Point Ski Hut is located at one of the most spectacular sites in the Sierra. The fantastic vista overlooks Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and the Yosemite High Country. A 10.5-mile guided ski trip on intermediate groomed terrain through magnificent Yosemite backcountry takes you to the rustic accommodations of our beautiful new stone and log building. We have a dining area, several sofas surrounding a wood stove, indoor lavatory facilities, and a bunk area that sleeps up to 20 skiers dormitory style (one big room).

The average experienced skier takes 4-5 hours to ski the 10½ miles from Badger Pass to Glacier Point, including a break for lunch. Fast skiers have plenty of time for exploring. Most people arrive back at Badger Pass Cross-Country by 3:00 or 4:00 p.m., after skiing from the Glacier Point Hut. Children must be at least 14 years old and accompanied by an adult in order to stay at the hut.

    Here's another unique Yosemite experience to enjoy this winter. We have openings at the Glacier Point Ski Hut (Fri-Mon.nights). You can hike to the hut from the Valley on the Four Mile or Panorama Trail. Great opportunity for photographers or non-skiers who would normally not make the trek.

    Tues/Wed/Thurs night stays are also available with a guide.

    We also have availability for the regular cross-country ski experience to Glacier Point Ski Hut when Mother Nature finally graces us with some snow, so think about making a reservation now.

    Hut Trips and Prices

    GUIDED GLACIER POINT HUT TRIPS (reservations are required)
    Ski to the point with a knowledgeable Yosemite local, who is also a ski instructor and guide. We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Badger Pass Cross-Country Center. We should be skiing soon after all participants arrive and complete all of the necessary paperwork. We will then ski out to the hut for dinner and a relaxing evening at “the rim of the valley.” On the last day we will eat breakfast, pack lunch, and ski back to Badger Pass. Two night trips allow a layover day, with the option of just resting, exploring the area, or joining a guided ski tour at Glacier Point. Previous cross-country ski experience is required.


    • One-Night Guided Hut Trip Price: $350.00 per person
    • Two-Night Guided Hut Trip Price: $550.00 per person

    Guided Glacier Point Hut Trip prices include guide service, accommodations, and meals. We require a minimum of three (3) guests in order to provide this service. (We can combine individuals to form groups.)  Equipment rentals and gratuities are not included.

    SELF-GUIDED GLACIER POINT HUT TRIPS (reservations are required)
    Guide yourselves safely to and from the hut and the hut keeper will provide dinner, breakfast, lunch for the ski out and a warm place to enjoy the evening. We require a minimum of six (6) guests in order to provide this service. (We can combine individuals to form groups.)  Equipment rentals and gratuities are not included.

    Useful Yosemite Services

    HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
    It is often convenient to have lodging in the area for the night before and/or after your stay at Glacier Point.  Not only does it allow for a more leisurely start in the morning, it also allows you to acclimate to the altitude somewhat before your trip. Sleeping at a higher altitude than usual the night before an outing is helpful, as is drinking plenty of water.  For reservations in Yosemite, call (801)559-4884 or Book Online.

    FREE BUS SERVICE:
    Free bus service from Yosemite Valley to Badger Pass departs at from Curry Village (8:05am), The Ahwahnee hotel (8:15am), and Yosemite Lodge at the Falls (8:30am).  Two afternoon buses return guests to their hotels in the Valley, departing Badger Pass at 2 pm and 4 pm daily.

    Glacier Point Meals

    We provide meals while you are on your trip, all meals while staying at the hut, and breakfast and a packed lunch for the day that you ski out. Guided trips also include lunch on the ski in. We design and prepare the meals on our trips to be nutritious and healthful, (with a few extra goodies thrown in for those who like them). Please let us know in advance if you have a special diet or food requests and we will do the best we can to accommodate you. If you prefer special drinks or snacks, you are more than welcome to bring them along.

    We lead trips to the Glacier Point hut any day of the week, we simply need to have at least 6 participants for each trip. Once you have a date or range of dates that you are interested in, please call our office during business hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily PST) to make a reservation. If you don’t have 6 people in your group, we try to put groups together to fill trips. Some dates are extremely popular, such as holidays and full moon evenings, so please make your reservations early. We require a 50% deposit payment to reserve a spot on any Glacier Point trip.  (209) 372-8444.

    We also recommend finding near-by lodging before and after your trip. A night at higher elevations will allow you to acclimate to the altitude before your trip, When skiing in the high mountains it is helpful to be physically fit, maintain a positive attitude, and be well acclimated. Sleeping at a higher altitude than usual the night before an outing is helpful, as is drinking plenty of water. Prior acclimatization will aid your performance during the outing and should make for a more enjoyable trip overall.

    Deposit and Cancellation Policy

    DEPOSITS AND REFUNDS:  A payment of 50% of the price of the trip is due at the time you make your reservation. For trip leaders organizing large groups, we are happy to take one credit card to cover the entire group, or each of the participants is welcome to call to make their own deposit.  We do not reserve spaces in the hut until those deposits are received.  The remaining 50% is due the morning of your trips, along with payment for any additional equipment that you wish to rent.

    We recommend that you book your spot as soon as possible, because the Glacier Point Ski Hut has become very popular. We require a 30-day advance notice for a full deposit refund. Less than 30 days notice will forfeit the deposit. Rates are subject to change with National Park Service approval. YMS and NPS can cancel an outing at any time. If YMS or NPS cancels the outing, YMS will refund the full deposit.
