Yosemite Cross-Country Skiing

Experience some of the best opportunities to cross country ski in California.Yosemite offers winter visitors access to the most beautiful vistas on earth, and the Badger Pass^® Ski Area is the gateway to Yosemite cross-country adventure. Take the kids cross country skiing and enjoy nearly 350 miles of trails and roads in the park. Beginning at Badger Pass are over 90 miles of marked trails and 25 miles of machine-groomed track. Cross-country track and skating lanes are groomed from Badger Pass to Glacier Point (a 21-mile round trip), and a three-kilometer track is set to the scenic Old Badger Summit. From tranquil snowy day-trips to overnight adventures, the novice and expert alike can create their perfect trip.

Badger Pass Cross-Country Center & Ski School
Founded in 1970, Yosemite Cross Country Ski School provides lessons for all ski levels and also leads ski tours and overnight excursions to Glacier Point and the Yosemite backcountry. The Center also has rentals for XC touring, skate, backcountry and telemark skis, as well as Pulk Sleds for pulling children, snowshoes, and some overnight snowcamping equipment.

Glacier Point Ski Hut

Strap on your cross country skis for a fantastic weekend adventure. Located right at Glacier Point, the Glacier Point Ski Hut offers warmth, shelter, delicious meals and some of the most fantastic views on the planet. To make a reservation, call (209) 372-8444 (reservations required).

Nordic Holiday Race

2010 Race Dates: February 20 - 21

This year the Cross Country Center is pleased to host the 39th Annual Nordic Holiday Race, a weekend of fun and nordic skiing. There is a classic and telemark event on Saturday, and a very special race to Glacier Point and back on Sunday, where the winners can complete the 21 mile round trip in around 1.5 hours.
