Yosemite Moonlight Tour

Yosemite Valley Moonlight Tour

Yosemite Moonlight Tour
If you thought Yosemite by daylight was inspiring, see the Valley in an entirely new and magical light during the Moonlight Tour. Following the same route as the Valley Floor Tour, participants ride in an open-air “green dragon” tram under the glow of a full moon.

These two-hour, late night Yosemite tours take place on full-moon nights from May through October, conditions permitting.

Duration: 2 hours

Departure Time: Departure times vary based on moon-rise. Current times and dates are listed in the Yosemite Guide, at our Tour & Activity Desks or you can call (209) 372-4FUN (4386).

You Will See: Many of Yosemite´s most famous landmarks: Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil Fall – all by the light of the moon!

Available:  on the 4 nights leading up to the full moon and on the night of the full moon during late spring, summer, and early fall months, weather permitting.  The final Moonlight Tour for 2008 was in September.  Please check back again this spring for 2009 dates.

Meet the Tour: In front of Yosemite Lodge at the Falls under the porte cochere. If you take the free park shuttle, get off at Stop #8.  If driving, please allow extra time for parking.

Making Reservations: Tour reservations may be placed at any Tour & Activity Desk or by calling x1240 from any house phone. To make reservations prior to your arrival in the Park, please call (209) 372-4FUN (4386). Reservations can be made up to seven days in advance.

Testimonials

“I went on the highsierra camp loop in 1956 with a guide and loved it. It was the beginning of my love for Yosemite and the hihg country. I am now lucky to be able to do it again in 2010. I can´t wait to do it again. Wonderful experience. I am 78 years old and still can hike 8-10 miles. So you are never too old!!”
