Tuolumne Meadows Lodge Details

Many hikers start their High Sierra Camp experience with a night at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge, an ideal base camp for day hikes throughout the Tuolumne Meadows area or before backpacking to the High Sierra Camps. Tuolumne Meadows Lodge is located in the largest sub-alpine meadow in the Sierra Nevada at an elevation of 8,775 feet, on the Tioga Pass Road, near the park's eastern entrance off Highway 120.

Tuolumne Meadows Lodge has 69 canvas tent cabin accommodations. The canvas-covered tents are metal-framed on a cement platform and will accommodate up to four people.  Equipped with beds and linens, candles for lighting, a wood burning stove and wood, Tuolumne lodging accommodations recall the early days of Yosemite.  There is no electricity in the cabins.   Central shower and restroom facilities, are located in the center of camp. Showers are available for guests staying at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge only.

Tuolumne Meadows Lodge serves hearty family-style breakfast and dinner in a central dining tent beside the Tuolumne River.  Menu options include beef, chicken and vegetarian choices, salads, soups and special desserts.  Dinner reservations are required and may be made by calling 209-372-8413. Guests can also order box lunches at the front desk the night before needed.  There are no private cooking facilities at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge.

Testimonials

“The Ahwahnee surpassed all our expectations on the occasion of our 30th anniversary. Every detail was splendid and memorable - right down to the rose petals on the bed in the shape of a heart, and the cheery rubber duckies! The dinner in the dining room was regal, and the champagne flowed with splendor, as did the Yosemite Falls just outside our balcony. Altogether, a perfect place for a seasoned romance, or the start of a new one... ”
