Curry Village in Yosemite

Curry Village® in Yosemite

The Curry Promise

Curry Village in Yosemite
In 1899, David and Jenny Curry opened a tented camp so that visitors could enjoy the beauty of Yosemite for a modest price. They advertised "a good bed and clean napkin with every meal" for just $2 a day.

Today, Curry Village®, otherwise known around Yosemite as Camp Curry, still offers park visitors comfortable, inexpensive lodging right in the shadow of spectacular Glacier Point and Half Dome.

To Our Valued Guests~

We are very excited that you have chosen Curry Village as your place of refuge during your visit to Yosemite.  We look forward to seeing you.

It can be somewhat of a challenge getting to us these days with the National Park Service utilities and road projects going on.  Although it may be a slight inconvenience, they are projects long over due.  Simply follow the orange directional signage to make your way to Curry Village.

It was another banner winter for Yosemite in terms of snowfall, resulting in beautiful snow-covered walk-ways and trees. Some of that winter snow continues to linger at Curry Village into spring.  As you explore Curry Village, don't be surprised to come across large piles of snow, still-sanded pathways, puddles and downed fence posts. We're still in the process of taking care of the last remnants of winter.

Work to rehabilitate the historic Guest Lounge and Registration buildings also continues. During this time, the Guest Lounge will not be available, and guest registration will take place in a temporary building located in the 20-minute registration parking lot. We apologize for any inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding while both of these historic structures are rehabilitated.

For more details, download this historical information on the Guest Lounge and Registration Buildings (pdf).

Kind regards,

Brett Archer, General Manager

Testimonials

“Today marks the day that my parents would be married for 69 years.  They married in 1940 and honeymooned in Yosemite staying in a cottage that was at the base of Yosemite Falls.  Our family’s love affair with Yosemite began with my mother’s parents coming to Yosemite for their honeymoon in 1913.  All my parent’s children have spent a part of their honeymoon in Yosemite as well, thanks to a gift from our grandmother.  Yosemite will forever be a place of grandeur, beauty and sweet memories for my family.  Though my father is not here to mark this special day in his life with my mother, we still remember that a beautiful young couple came to Yosemite 69 years ago to celebrate the beginning of their many devoted years together.  We are forever truly grateful for all that Yosemite means to our family.”
